
Here’s the seat where I usually rest when I gain this stage of my walk. But not this time. The flooding earlier in the year has not yet receded, turning the woodland floor to glass.

That water! Wow. I guess you’d need to be wearing waders! Or maybe just rubber boots.

It wasn’t very deep. The pond is, a former gravel pit. But the water had flooded the surrounding area. Rubber boots would have done. Just be careful not to overstep and find yourself up to your neck
