The Ocean Tide

My love is like the ocean tide
Sweeping in, knocking and toppling all in his way
To lap at the highest reach which is my heart.
But no sooner here than he turns again
And with an awful tug he says farewell, he has to go,
Only to return again.
And so the cycle goes.

Is there a cease to this?
Might he remain?
One day?
Some day?
Ever?
Or must he ever pull at me
To tear and to destroy this shore

Some come in and go out; bringing excitement. Others opt more for a lake over an ocean as the tides are a lot less volatile.. less exciting, more sure…
    Which to choose?

  5. Seems there’s been a lot of love poetry with you recently – just in the mood to get out some amorous words?
