Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN
Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.
I’m thinking something to do with Faerie. That hole could be a gateway.

Funny you should say that. This was my theory as a child. In fact, this photo was taken in that very same woods, despite for the past many years I’ve been living 30 miles away. 🙂

Is that the tree’s uvula I see in the back of its mouth?
Some trees have NO manners! One should cover one’s mouth while yawning.

It looks like a sculpture of a woman’s face inside the tree hole. Beautiful shot.

If I lived near that, I absolutely could not resist putting a stuffed squirrel in that hole.

So … I don’t read anyone’s before I write and post mine, but I can’t help but wonder how much of the energy of this photo came through to take people in a similar direction to where it took mine!

And I shall welcome you. Remember to keep the words down to 150 (I do read them all) and to make it your own work. Other than that… go get creative!!!

Will do. I love to create flash fiction. 😄

Ironically, I always declared myself incapable (I write very long fiction) until I started to host this challenge. Although as often as not I post a poem, that poem often contains its own story… and if not, I go for flash fiction. But I still write very long fanast fiction! 🙂

Oh, I could say the same. Nearly three years ago, I started off by writing stories in 140 characters which then progressed to 240 characters, 50 words, 100 words and so on. I call them tiny tales and I’ve written nearly 70 so far. It was a prompt that got me started too. 😄 I’m looking forward to your prompt. 😄
