So we’re walking along, five miles since we jumped off the bus, and I’m thinking now I’d like to sit for a while, maybe have a coffee, brought in my flask. And here’s a seat… and isn’t it ironic, it’s broken. All these trees, not a place to sit.
Isn’t It Ironic, one of the titles in #2019picoftheweek challenge. For details see MariaAntonia
Ironic indeed. i love that song, and the sentiment behind this photo.

I thank you, J. It’s getting more difficult to fill the prompts, issued way back at the turn of the year. Three Saturday’s left, and twelve titles. But some of those, no way will I use. As I said, this is when it gets tough.

This is great Crispina! This would also make a great prompt! ๐ โค

I had thought that when I took the photo. But I needed it for this challenge. I’d nothing else taken this year that could possibly answer Ironic.

You can still use it for your challenge! ๐

Wow! I love this! I’ve been looking for something to fulfill this prompt and I came up with… nada. THIS is perfect, though. (Except, of course, if you actually wanted to sit down and have a rest after a long walk. Then, this is kind of cruel…)

Well, it is true, we were hoping to find somewhere to sit. But… we found somewhere further along.

Definitely ironic, but I do love coming on these battered old benches, especially covered with fallen leaves….

It was very atmospheric. Did you notice that mud!

I’ll bet it was lovely to walk through!

Rich in fungi, with flame-leaved birch trees and rusty oaks. I’ve never seen their leaves so vividly coloured. I shall post anon.

What a beautiful place. What a shame that bench is broken, and yes ironic.

Over the years and along the ways I’ve seen many a broken seat. But there was something about this one that callled out to be photographed.

Excellent choice for the prompt. And a beautiful picture. There is something about these abandoned benches that has a weird charm…

I agree. Though there were a couple of other casualties, and they didn’t have the same charm ๐

Of course, your artist’s eye chose the perfect one.

That bench has definitely seen better days! It might be picturesque now, but it would be even better if it were functional.

I thought that at the time. Drats, no where to sit for my coffee.

Brandy, I’m a brandy person. Always welcome when walking. Although we’ve had so much rain I haven’t managed to get out since.

There have been times I perched on the edge of a bench, not to squish the fungus growing there.
