BTW I shall be off-line for a while today while my laptop visits the doctor.

I hope to be back on by the evening. But here’s advance warning in case…

      It’s due in at 1:30 [BST], for diagnostics. I hope then to have it back while any new parts required are ordered etc, and then it’ll go in again. Otherwise, it’s a new one. Groan.

      My concern was that people wouldn’t think I’d skedaddled.
      But that laptop is my life. I have no tv, no radio, my phone is 10yrs obsolete, I rely on the laptop. But I do have plenty of books to read.

        So you know how calamitous if anything goes wrong. Indications of this soon to happen. Thought it best to get it checked over before all falls down. I don’t want to buy a new laptop. I like this one. So I’m keeping the fingers crossed that, apart from a much needed dusting, there’ll be nothing else wrong. Ho-hum. Maybe if I updated my phone, I wouldn’t be quite so dependant. There’s always the library for internet connection!

        Yes, may laptop is seven years old, and it seems fine to me. But who knows how much longer I’ll feel that way. And my phone is a couple of years old, but I am quite happy with it, and see no reason to upgrade. Hope your laptop has a good checkup!
