Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN
Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
If you tag it #CCC others should be able to find it by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.
The ruins in the background once belonged to Norwich Cathedral.

Hmmm.. this one has me thinking….

“Crafty Fags”
Just like in school days, there will always be those who sneak out behind the walls for a “crafty fag.” For North American readers: Faggot = bundle of sticks; Fag = a cigarette

Yea. brilliant connection. I didn’t see it. To me they’re Withies at Whitlingham, which has a kind of ring to it

Are those sticks used for something? I have to admit I thought about brooms when I saw them.

They’re withies, used for all kinds of can-ware: baskets, chairs, patio furniture, you name it. When I was there they had a giant hare woven out of withies!

I did take photos, but they came out a bit naff.

Yep. Just read it. And loved it. And while I can agree about negative images, the witch does have a certain reputation in folklore, and that’s something we can’t change.

Lovely photo, this. Just been reading the previous comments and I bet a hare woven out of the withies looked amazing! 🙂

It did. But it didn’t photograph well. It stood about 8 ft tall, and it was right in front of commercial signage. Walls Icecream or something. Totally spoilt what was a wonderful weaving
