Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it.
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN

Once this had been a great highway, the route between two wealthy cities. But the toll collectors grew greedy, the merchants and the travelers found other routes, and as trade routes changed, the cities degenerated into mere collections of huts. The trees returned to claim the fertile fields. And the toll collectors were left idle and penniless.
The toll booths are gone. The pavement has been torn up and used for buildings and fences elsewhere. But the gate, still boarded up, stands, a monument to greed and the changing tides of history. It is said the descendants of the toll collectors still dream of regaining their livelihood and wealth when commerce returns to their toll gate. Vain hope!
