Lazing, languid, amongst the prawns and langoustine
Forming liaisons potentially clandestine
The fisherman pulled the shrimps and the octopi out of his pot
Not a good catch, wouldn’t fetch him a lot
But that squid… if it livened a bit
Might con a grand lady’s cook to make a bid
57 words for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt: Languid
Very nicely done Crispina

Grins … but I don’t care for squid or octopus in my meal. Cheers to your cleverness.

I usually have lobster on New Year’s, but this year it was just me and the hub at home so we were too lazy. 🙂

Fun response, Crispina. I bet the squid wasn’t keen on looking lively if there was a chance that no sale meant it would be put back in the sea! 🙂

It started as a playful rhyme, you know how I am. And it progressed. Memories of Minoan vases

I love Minoan art – all those depictions of sea creatures 🙂

They were great mariners. And those globular pots are still used in the East Med for octopii fishing.
