Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN
Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
If you tag it #CCC others should be able to find it by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.
this one is particularly special in what it has to say to me.. see you soon with my reply.

Crispina, your photo prompts, always get my mind twizzling from the moment I see them. Now I can’t wait to see Violet’s response 😊🌼

Me neither.
And I choose the prompts specifically to get you (generic, not personal) going.

And you did an excellent job tying them in.

Hi. I’m just going to put 80 words here as I’m traveling and posting is a pain.
Kids nowadays can’t be bothered to get away from their screens. In his day the path was well worn, the cellar hole a popular spot to hangout, smoke weed, drink beer. Harmless experimental fun. He had a rush of memories returning here now. She’d see. So much better than gaming. He’d show her. They’d create real memories.
Their eyes adjusted to the shadowed interior. It was unchanged since his last visit. He smiled. Her body wouldn’t be found either.

Oh, I like it. I read it, breath halted.
I too used to play in this spot (well, for one week of one year I did) and now when I visit the memories come crashing. But my adult mind imagines things beyond a child’s, and as I peer in, I half-fear I might discover a body.
So, absolutely adore your tale.

Glad you liked it. It’s creepier than I’ve ever written. Just for fun.

But that’s what’s good about the prompts: we can try out things we don’t usually go for. E.G. My writing is getting occasionally dark, which it had never been before.

I like this … as I commented on your post. And if I ever pop my head in and find you’re there, I’ll share my waterflask with you. And that’s a promise. 🙂

I knew what I was going to write immediately. Wrote part of it at work during quiet times, tweaked it. Not sure I’m 100% satisfied but figure I best leave it as is before I bugger it up further!

Sometimes It’s best to go with first thoughts. And it certainly works. Plus I like your answering photo. Double take, hey. 🙂

So true. And I normally do but it was bugging me.
Glad you liked the photo, too.

A touch of imagination required this week, tongue in cheek but hopefully no teeth around it at http://bobfairfield.org/2019/05/10/crimsons-creative-challenge-26/,

Another interesting photo prompt, Crispina. At first glance I had no idea how to fit this one into Lyr’s ever-unfolding and evolving story…but as soon as I sat down to write, the answer materialised! Thankfully 😉

I am massively impressed with your smooth segue. But there are still some nasty hurdles for your competent pen to negotiate along the way

To which I chortle. This week’s was a good one. HItting 84, not 83 or 85, took some doing. And I declare I came close to losing the rhythm (it posts tomorrow)
