I had expected to be alone on that shore.
It wasn’t that I was doing anything illegal. No drug smuggling, no digging up protected plants or stealing Little Tern eggs. I just didn’t want to be seen.
I didn’t want anyone asking questions… even silently with their eyes. I had something to bury, and they’d think me silly.
I turned my back to the walkers and crouched low in the dunes to scrab into the sand, to make a burial pit.
And in it I placed that small slip of paper.
I covered it, patted it, spread loose sand over it. Now no one would know it was there. My wish to Spirit to take away this debilitating illness.
Oh! That did not go where I thought it would. Beautifully done, Crispina!

Sad but wonderful story

Thank you, Frank. I admit I was writing blind, so to speak. I knew she was going to bury something, but I didn’t know what…until my fingers tapped out the words! 🙂

I guess that’s how a real writers mind works well dpne

I’m not sure about that. Though something similar does happen with the novels…which is why they end up being so long

Have to wonder if it’s true. But if it is, you shouldn’t be telling us!

My technique is to throw into a river, stream, or the sea.

Moving water is always a great option and I have used that to great effect. But never in the ocean (at least in California) lest I be accosted by the EPA for throwing “trash” into the ocean. lol. In South Dakota where our primary elemental force was wind, I used to write on dried leaves, then crumple them and toss them into the wind. I still do that when we have an obliging wind here in Kentucky. Hey, I’m an Air sign … go figure LOL

I love the idea of writing on leaves. I’ve burned the paper, let the wind take it. I’m an Air sign with Moon in Fire. But I also have a Water ascendant.

Oooh I totally need to have my astrology charts done again. I’ve completely forgotten my moon placement. I am a Libra ⚖️ on the Scorpio cusp so I have a definite affinity for water as well as air but I also feel strongly drawn to earth. Fire I tend to approach with caution 😉
