I was waiting for the sun to crest the horizon but just couldn’t resist turning the zoom to the distant lights at the harbour’s mouth (perhaps as much as a mile away)

I’m amazed I got such a good photo from such a distance. Not sharp but the sun hadn’t yet risen

It was serendipity cos, at that distance, I wasn’t thinking of thirds. Though maybe my eye is trained to it. I didn’t have to crop the photo. It’s just as it came off the camera
