Sunday Picture Post: Boudica’s Way

10th November, hopped off the bus at Dunston Hall on A140. This is where the *modern* road picks up the course of a Roman road from Venta Icenorum to Colchester and Chelmsford. Is this the road that Boudica took on her notorious rebellion? Possibly not, for there is a road that runs parallel with this, and that’s the one we’re taking.

Today, Dunston is a small hamlet that straddles the lane between those two roads.

The morning starts misty and grey. Is it mist, or is it drizzle? Hard to say.

At Saxlingham we turn off Boudica’s Way to rejoin A140 and catch the bus home. But first we get wet muddy feet exploring Smock Mill Common and the River Tas

So many more photos I could have shown you. It’s always difficult to choose the right ones. But I hope I’ve given you a flavour of our Boudica’s Way.
