10th November, hopped off the bus at Dunston Hall on A140. This is where the *modern* road picks up the course of a Roman road from Venta Icenorum to Colchester and Chelmsford. Is this the road that Boudica took on her notorious rebellion? Possibly not, for there is a road that runs parallel with this, and that’s the one we’re taking.
Today, Dunston is a small hamlet that straddles the lane between those two roads.
The morning starts misty and grey. Is it mist, or is it drizzle? Hard to say.
Dunston church with a rare dedication in these parts: St Remigius
On the Tas at Stoke Holy Cross sits the mill; no longer working, it’s now a restaurant
Here we join that parallel road, Boudica’s Way
Norfolk is flat… except where it rises between valleys
I have named this The Witch Tree. What do you see?
At Saxlingham we turn off Boudica’s Way to rejoin A140 and catch the bus home. But first we get wet muddy feet exploring Smock Mill Common and the River Tas
So many more photos I could have shown you. It’s always difficult to choose the right ones. But I hope I’ve given you a flavour of our Boudica’s Way.

The village has a mix of houses, some old, some newer, some quite arty in their design. Yet it all holds together.

I love when it’s a hodge-podge of styles. 🙂

Me too. Don’t like to see sprawling housing estates, little boxes all the same

I used to pass it every time I went to my grandma’s. It’s recently come on the market… if you’ve got a few pence to spare (£700,000)

Quite a few pence. Don’t think my parents and I brought back quite that many from our trips to the U.K.

I think it’s actually 2 houses (semi-detached) or used to be, but now it’s being sold as one
