23rd September we jump on a bus to Lowestoft. Excellently timed for as we arrive at the bus station the bus we need is there. We’re heading to Kessingland to walk back to Lowestoft by beach. This is new country to me, I’ve never even seen this beach. I don’t know what to expect.
Kessingland is such a civilised resort: the council provides safe footage down to the shore
where we are blinded by the light
Ah! So there’s the sea!
The beach is stony. Perhaps we’ll keep to the dunes…
This seems to be drain-fed from the cliffs. Several feeder streams cross the dunes, their track marked by glasswort, sedge and reeds
Erosion is constant
This brings us to Pakefield. The cliffs continue as far as Lowestoft but the nature of the beach changes. Next week…
I enjoyed the photo tour with you. Thanks

The scenery reminds me of our south coast in South Australia 😀

Has a kind of desert look to it, I thought

Parts of our shore line are surrounded by sand dunes of a really rich charcoal colour

Wow. Ours range from white to pale yellow, nothing dark at all

Living on the coast, great choice. And I never travel more than 2 bus journeys (about 30 miles)

Which is great. It’s all within reach 🙂

I had a kitchen like that once. Just stood in the middle and everything I needed was in arm’s reach. It was a very small kitchen

That’s a little smaller than I’d like!

My current kitchen isn’t much bigger. I have to do a sidewards shuffle

I shall get used to it. I’ve had smaller, I remind myself (just not much smaller)
