Surrounded, another title achieved in Maria’s Antonia’s #2020picoftheweek
And no, it’s not part of the flooding that’s hit the west of Britain so terribly. This is Norfolk, on the outskirts of Norwich, and these have long been watermeadows, liable to flood every spring.
This is really beautiful Crispina! Would be a great photo challenge! 😀 ❤

Thank you, Deborah.

It’s always weird to see trees growing out of water, isn’t it?

I’m used to seeing it on this stretch of the river… most years.

“A willow wept in the River Wensum:” is very poetic. Would you start a poem with it? I’d like to read it.

Perhaps. It’s a thought.

A good thought. I thought you loved Willows 🙂

So I do… and if the muse nibbles my ear, then I will do. But will not force it 🙂

No of course not. 🙂 The photo is enticing though. Don’t you think?

It has been suggested it would make a good CCC prompt

Floods happen – hurricanes do it for us here, so our floods are usually in the fall rather than spring!

It’s the winter rains and snow that does it for us. Although a summer storm can cause a worse flood, as we’ve been seeing in the west and north of GB

Makes for a beautiful shot!

Thank you. There was a clump of snowdrops growing landward of the tree… but in the flow. And no way was I wading through mud to get a close-up of it. Oh for a decent zoom!

I frankly think this is lovely as is…

Thanks. Hoping to get out this week. While we’re still allowed to leave town!

No kidding! The outdoors is a safe spot…

It is, yes. But for me it requires a busride to get there. Still, while we can… we’ll just take precautions.
We’ve agreed we won’t go into Norwich, which is our usual hub for getting buses to take us further out. There’s an hourly service from GY along the Waveney river (border of Norfolk & Suffolk). It’s not a chockablock service. We started to explore the area last year… we’ve decided that’s what we’ll do (while we’re allowed to)

Understood… Well, guess you will have to explore your “backyard” for now…

Only when Mr Boris forbids me to travel. Though, as I say, I’ll only stay to border regions. At least with everyone taking to home-working, these are less folks on the buses. But until the close the schools, I’m not doing the Norwich run.

Your schools are still not closed? Sheesh…

Yea, as usual, Brits are doing it differently. But I do understand the game-plan. Just hope it works.

We’re waiting for a PM announcement late afternoon, to see what new measures will be put in place. The idea seems to be to protect/shield the eldery, vulnerable, those most likely to develop the worst form. While the young, the healthy, those who’ll probably have no more than a flu-like reaction… let them have it now. Lock them all in, they’ll still get it later.
