Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN
Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.
For those interested, the photo shows the footpath through the fields between Upton and Acle. Yet the church, just visible behind the trees belong to neither parish, but to Fishley … which exists now as a farm and the church and nothing more.
The road less traveled? The long way home? Hmmmmm…. Let me think….

I know you’ll make a fine job of it. Can’t wait to read it. 🙂

I can see that you did. Playing the little leprechaun. I read somewhere they were shoemakers of old

“A peaceful English countryside. All Marge Winston wanted was a quiet country vacation. But lurking behind that ridge is something that’s about to turn Marge’s vacation into a day of terror. For it is not just the road to hell that is paved with good intentions. And Marge’s path is about to take her into the Twilight Zone.”

You could be right about that. Like it. And you’ve kept it short. 🙂 Love the dramatic flourish.

I love this photo…it’s so green. And the church looks like it’s trying to hide behind the trees 🙂

That’s cos it is trying to hide. It’s Fishley church, still in use despite close to zero congregation, surrounded by Scots pines and hornbeam trees.

🙂 So is Fishley one of these lost medieval villages that plague wiped out?
LikeLiked by 1 person
No, not plague. It’s quite a recent development. Post-war changes in agriculture more than anything, and possibly the loss of our fishing industry. Agricultural workers would split their year between ploughing the fields and ploughing the waves. When both revenues go … they move into town.

An interesting explanation, if a sad one. 😦

I am reminded of the old pop song, “Cherry Hill Park.”

Apparently it was not the hit in the U.K. that it was in the U.S. So pardon my cultural imperialism.

Yea, not quite to the English taste. 🙂 Too soft, despite the raunchy words.

I will admit my ignorance of aforesaid song but having now heard it, I see what you mean.

I think it looks more like a tie. 🙂 Except in the early months of the year, when the boots sink into the field, ankle deep at least

We went away to house/dog sit for the week in sunny warm Brisbane. Came home to the cold.

Well, we might be in the middle of summer but the thermometer is going up and down like a duck on a rough sea. One day, pull on the woollies, next day shed them. Lo! The weather goddess is going through menopause. 🙂
