Crimson’s Creative Challenge #34

CCC#34

Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN

Here’s how it works:

Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE

Here are some suggestions:

  • An answering photo
  • A cartoon
  • A joke
  • A caption
  • An anecdote
  • A short story (flash fiction)
  • A poem
  • A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
  • An essay
  • A song—the lyrics or the performance

You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:

  • Your creative offering is indeed yours
  • Your writing is kept to 150 words or less

If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)

Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.

  1. Brian Bixby says:

On the right is one of the few traces of the short-lived Norfolk Unicycle Trail experiment. Introduced by 1930 by the second Labour government, it was intended to be the start of a nationwide system of unicycle trails, complete with unicycle repair stations, and, of necessity, a nationwide first aid system (an ideological precursor to the NHS).

The 1932 Costessey disaster, which cost the lives of twelve unicyclists, two nurses, and a cow, led to a public outcry, and a decision to cease developing the system nationwide. The Norfolk trails remained in operation, however, until the incoming Tory government ended the experiment in 1936.

Attempts by enthusiasts to revive the system in the 1980s were met by massive protests from dairy cows all across Norfolk, who staged a milk production boycott and occupied Costessey for 81 days (excluding bank holidays) in protest.

  2. To the left the road to perdition, to the right the bridge leading to the moral higher ground. [Crispina has given us a great visual carbon footprint allegory]
