Flowers from our walk 19th April 2023. Enjoy
Cherries, of course…and Ransoms (wild garlic)
Columbine… though possibly a garden escapee
And presenting the prettiest picture: Bluebells, Celandines and Wood Anemones
Broom, this was unexpected [Cytisus]
And…
If they’re fine-stemmed…
If they’ve drooping heads…
If the bells are narrow and tend towards purply-blue…
We can be sure these are our native flowers.
That’s all for now folks. Hope you enjoyed.
And those natives flowers have a name? Are they native blue bells? Lovely blooms, Crispina!

Bluebells. But our native bluebells are more delicate, and darker, with droopy heads, than are those from Europe

And still the woods are full of them! Such a long season this year

And that’s a wonderful thing! Much prefer a long spring to a long winter!
