Photos taken of the first part of our walk (23rd February) to and beyond Lound Lakes
Quickthorn greets us!
We shouldn’t forget to look down by our feet. This is a bed of lichen and mosses
Spread over the hill like an expensive carpet
Always, honeysuckle is the first out with her leaves
Moss…
Fern…
We have named this “Honeysuckle Woods”, growing so abundantly here
Gorse… flowers almost all year round. Looks best against a deep blue sky
And as we started, so we finish, with Quick-thorn… aka Black -thorn.
Hope you enjoyed. I wonder what I’ve got for you next week?
Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos

I never feel safe till March is out. It’s a month that too often has tripped us. Yet I have been planting shrubs into my garden this week

March is not a good month for reliability … But trending in the right direction.

Yes. I just remember some treacherous ends to the month

You get so you don’t want to take any more photos of it. But though I say it’s everywhere, it is mostly the peaty-heathlands

I can understand that. I am so done with the snow and cold. I no longer feel pulled to go out and photograph it

Always have flowers. My treat to myself.
You know, my mother used to wait for us to buy her flowers (which I did with every visit) yet she had a garden full of them.

Yes. Absolutely. I do it for myself all the time, too.

I mean, why wait for someone to buy. & they’re not so expensive

After doing so many nature photographs, especially of plants and fungi, do you find yourself paying greater attention to the natural world around you?

Yes. And it’s something my daughter remarked on too. And now I find myself with *wild flowers* growing in my lawn. Others might call them weeds but celandine and speedwell aren’t weeds to me
