Monday is usually my day for answering Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt but this week I answered it straight into the comments. Which frees up today for something… different.
Mandarin Duck: 15 April 2021Close-up: 15 April 2021 Mallard duck… looks like she’s fending off Mr Fancy Pants! 15 April 2021 And now she’s called in Barny Barnacle Goose for extra defence: 15 April 2021 Meanwhile, Mr Mallard Drake is in a tiff: 15 April 2021 The Egyptian Geese watch the spectacle: 15 April 2021 And Mr Cobb Swan casts a watchful eye on his family: 15 April 2021 Whitlingham Park… where birds of a feather flock together (sometimes in harmony): 15 April 2021
What a wonderful variety, all in one place! There’s a pair of Egyptian Geese hanging out in our neighborhood lately — although I didn’t know what they were called until I looked it up a couple weeks ago.
Very good photos.

A lovely variety of birds Crispina. We don’t get the more exotic ones like the mandarins and Egyptian geese.

They’re not native. They’re escaped from private collections and now breed in the wild

And real. I keep looking at the photos and thinking it must be a kid’s cuddly toy.

They’re getting quite expansive in their range.
