Most mornings I take a photo of this lamppost from various angles as a focal point for whatever the sky is doing. This time I took the photo at night.

This little lamp of mine, I’m gonna let it shine … let it shine … let in shine … let it shine.

Yea. I have a long and complex conversation on Twitter regards my lamp and the possibility of taking it with me when I move. Apparently it has become iconic of me! Don’t think our council will agree

Did you now? Oh dear, no, I highly doubt they would allow that…
LikeLiked by 1 person
No. It was said I could point out it has become iconic and could become a place of pilgrimage which could annoy council employees since it’s right at the edge of their carpark!
Oh what fun, our chats on Twitter

I love silliness, you know that. And it’s great when you find someone who’ll feed that silliness.

Yes, for sure. Silly is necessary!

I miss Brian’s silliness… he’s excellent for bantering (as I believe you’ve witnessed)

He does still contribute, but not from his blog; it’s usually in the comments.
And he’s just had a birthday, I wished him well. We exchange emails on a monthly basis. A long running friendship; he was my first follower here.

Dale, what has happened is three-fold.
1) I have fallen behind on blogs. Today, the 22nd, I am just getting to Feb. 13 & 14th entries.
2) I have been putting off dealing with a backlog of issues since my mother died in 2017.Some of them are coming due. And I’m getting tired of old commitments hanging over my head.
3) I have three courses I’ve been teaching this spring, on the Roaring 20s in the U.S., on 19th c. American communes, and on the 100 Years War. They’ve taken more prep than I expected.
So Crispina’s not seen my comments, I haven’t posted on my blogs in a while, and I feel guilty. But I have to handle my guilt trips one and a time, and try to clear them up.
Oh, and I just sent a silly email to Crispina about my father undertipping a waitress in Quebec. That’s because her father is a hero, Judy the photographer’s father was an incipient pyro, and my father was a failed Canadian prairie wheat farmer.

Brilliant, Brian. Did you realise Dale lives in Quebec? š

Honestly, no. I’m impresses by how often I sound clever when I’m actually clueless. š

Of course it’s accidental. There’s no way to plan for it

1) I know all about falling behind. I get to a point where I simply flush everything older than a given day.
2) I can’t blame you. There comes a time where we are pushed against the wall and needs must take care of what we were avoiding.
3) What interesting subjects! Kinda wish I were a student š.
And then the accuse us Quebecers of being cheap tippers! Canadian wheat farmers have had bad times over the years ..
No matter. Nice of you to respond now!

It is possible to be a student, Dale. Zoom goes everywhere! But one does have priorities.
Thank you for understanding.

Oh, I know. I am seriously contemplating signing up for some courses. We are never too old to keep learning.
I do š

Well, I’m teaching courses on “The Wars of the Roses and Shakespeare,” “The U.S. Exploring Expedition, 1839-42,” “The Fall of the Roman Republic,” and “The Scandalous Age of President Grant,” if you’re looking for a history course this spring.

Because, as we know, G.R.R.Martin was inspired by War of Roses when writing GoT

I haven’t even unwrapped them, to tell the truth. It’s crazy to have so many books to read and take so little time to read them!

And I’m accumulating books to read. Set aside to read when I’m old and can no longer walk or write or handle a camera. Priorities

Oh lordy… I’ve got enough books to hold me over until I’m at least 100 – we best hope our eyesight stays good!

Yea. I’m trying not to buy any more, but my daughter just deposited a 5-book series on me (I’d already read 1, it should be 6)

I’ve just downloaded several audio books. At least I’m not cluttering my shelves. Dare not to that with a move (some time this century)

I’ve been avoiding the physical books as well. My shelves are already two deep.

No, I haven’t tried, Mostly it’s just the sky that’s changing. Though I do take it from all angles to get the sky I want

There’s something about a lamp post, especially if it’s a little olde worlde.

With a very olde worlde setting…
I take photos of this lamppost most mornings. But the snow just set it off. And the muted colours really makes the building seem old (um, they are old)
