    For me, the days that mark the season begin with a personal one, for December 20 was the day on which my grandmother, Isabella (Emerson) Campbell was born, the only grandparent I ever knew. And that, in my childhood, started the holiday season. She’s been dead for 52 years now, though, so I can only celebrate with her in memory.
