He said my suggestion was asinine.
I asked him why.
He said it doesn’t conform to the accepted theory.
I said what if that theory is wrong?
No, he said, that is truly asinine.
But what about that body of evidence? Do you dismiss it?
Evidence, he snorted. A made-up load of sums.
Then you don’t accept that the Earth revolves around the Sun?
No. That is worse than asinine. That’s tantamount to heresy.

Well said.
Reading “Cosmos” I’ve learned that Heliocentrism was proposed much earlier than I (and others) thought.

How can it possibly revolve around the sun when it is a flat disc?
Fun one, Crispina!

Nah, nha, nah, you have it wrong. The earth is hollow and the sun is attached to the outer shell which revolves around us!!!

THey have to make up conspiracy theories to explain away the otherwise inexplicable. All good mental exercise! 🙃😉

As we all know, the Earth is a tetrahedron, else there would not be four corners of it. Each corner is a volcano. That is how the earth expands. Far from getting smaller, the Earth is getting bigger every day. Which means its mass is increasing. Which is why one’s weight increases over time.

That’s what it is. Gosh, Brian, I’m so glad you explained that to me. I’d been worrying about this weight gain. Not overeating and oversitting but the Earth getting bigger. Hmmm. That takes a weight off my mind

No, no, no, no, no! It is NOT supposed to take a weight OFF your mind. Your mind is getting HEAVIER! Haven’t you noticed all the heavy thoughts you’re having???
