A full halfway along, there’s a break in the hedge (new trees being planted) and we can see into the fields. Wildflowers form wide borders, intended to attract pollinating insects and bees, and thus also birds.

As we turn off the track, to pick up another to take us to Ashby, there is an incredible smell. It doesn’t find favour with most people, but it makes me think of roasting coffee. It’s hemlock in the sun
Lound Lakes
Beyond Asby, heading back to Great Yarmouth, Lound Lakes are a reservoir managed by Anglian Water. And private property. This was all we could see.

Pine isn’t native to Norfolk and Suffolk. These have been planted on the hill that rises above Lound Lake (a former Board).

The weather had remained fair for us, so we couldn’t complain if the clouds started to mount as we were heading for the bus home.

Barefoot? Not recommended. Very stony soil. Plus it was alive with bees feeding

Yes, it was.
This Monday’s walk was postponed for bad weather. But then I went out on my own yesterday. And the walk with my daughter has been moved to Saturday. So this coming Sunday will be yesterday’s walk… if I ever get the photos sorted.

Right now I feel I’m neglecting everyone.
Went for walk yesterday (results will form Sunday’s post) came back with 447 photos I’m trying to process while keeping a presence on Twitter and here… and the personal life and… can I have another 2 pairs of hands and 5 more heads!

Yeah, remember that feeling. Whenever someone around me was retiring, I was, Wow, I want to go too. And then my health ensured it happened early. Silver linings

I worked with a woman who refused to retire, and it was only when her husband’s health failed that she gave way. She was over 70 by then. Crazy lady. In this country there is no need.

No, it’s not a ‘need’ so much as a “NEED” for some people. My husband was not planning on retiring fully because he needed to keep busy – he was going to modify his schedule. Well. So much for that. I, for one wish I had stayed in a place long enough to have a decent pension!
