Our Self-Induced Illusions

I might have taken to penning romance, but here’s my answer to those who seek to see a transformation

What lies delight us
How eager to believe our self-induced illusions
That here is love and here is truth
And here is the answer to a prayer
So keen to lap at this glittering feast
Not wanting to see this…this focus of our intense affection
Is nothing but our own projection

Your beautiful verse reminded me of a painful experience – May I share with you.

    Time Remembers

Your truth of yesterday becomes a lie tomorrow,
I can’t believe you were evil disguised in the words of an angel,
I lie to myself about you, but I never believe me,
The deep wound you caused, it will not heal,
Healing takes courage and you have destroyed mine,
I wish my trust was within you,
Now I don’t know who I am anymore.

  4. I think when you fall in love with someone, how do you know how they really feel about you? It could be projection, but in the end you have to hope and trust their feelings for you are similar to yours.

    Cynical? Maybe
    Realist? Probable
Is it wrong to desire this projection to actually be true? Hell no. That’s what love is all about. You have to go through many hoops sometimes to find the real thing.
You’ve got this poetry thing down, Crispina!

“Our Self-Induced Illusions.” At first, I thought this was something to eat and I thought yum.
But no, it’s a flower and I gave them up. Too sweet.

  9. I liked this. Wherever we put our heart, we put our treasure – and sometimes our heart goes in useless directions!
