Helter-skelter in a swelter
Ice-cream sundaes and chilled drinks
Come on down, Dad’ll catch you
Just let go and, oops… he blinked.
Helter-skelter, sun’s a melter
Breezes cooler at the top
Come on down, Mummy’s waiting
Just let go and, ouch… you didn’t stop.
Helter-skelter, rain’s a pelter
It’ll soak you high up there
Come on down and share the brolly
Eat fish and chips upon the pier.
“Helter-skelter” is sure a fun phrase to rhyme with!

Yea. From the moment you say the words, more rhyming words follow. A bit like willy-nilly and silly-billy and hocus-pocus. 🙂

Those would also be fun rhymes!

Another time. Although I did once write a pen for my daughters which included the lines, Her knickers were quite frilly, which she said kept her bottom warm when the weather did turn chilly. 🙂

So did she. *I star in a poem* but she refused to quote it to her friends cos it mentioned her underwear 🙂

I would deny it, cos of modesty, but I have to admit, it is often true.

Excellent poem Crispina 🙂 You confirmed my take on it. Mine was just a guess.
I knew the term “Helter Skelter” from a far less fun point of view. But that event came much later.
I prefer the fun one 😊
