Marjorie Dore crouched in front of the tree
Marjorie Dore cocked her head the better to see.
Mama told me fairies live here
Mama said I had to beware
Are you listening, fairies?
Do you hear?
Then best you take note
For I don’t fear.
I’m going to stay here
Until you appear.

That is definitely a fairy tree.

Oh yes, without a doubt. This is where I spent my child-days, this is what helped make me what I am today. 🙂

I wonder if she’s seen those fairies yet.
Speaking of wonderings. Are you having problems with your comments? It seems gremlins are eating Word Press. Can we get the Fairies to help?

She has indeed seen the fairies. And it seems the comments are now coming through. But see my email 🙂

Thank you, Dale. And there’s plenty of room for more fairy tales. And I know yours will be so much different to mine. 🙂

Yea. But it’s true, as a child I did talk to the fairies that lived in these trees. One of my earlies memories is trying to catch dust motes as they streamed through the leafy canopy (actually, it was probably pollen) thinking they were fairies. Don’t know how old I was, except I was in a push chair.

Ah! Have you talked with Colleen Chesebro? I’m sure she’d love this type of story.

Sorry, I have to ask this (and show my ignorance) but who is Colleen Chesebro?

Okay, just googled and found. Ah-ha!

Yes – she’s the one who does the Tanka Tuesday poetry prompt, and she’s had several fairy encounters. So I thought you might like her.

I googled her. I shall have to investigate further

That sounds like a challenge you shouldn’t give to a fairy…..

Aw, but she’s only a child, she hasn’t learned that yet 🙂

Great poem! Funny, my first thought when seeing this picture was something of the magical type.
