They’re gonna put me in the movies
They’re gonna make a big star out of me

Nope. I got a film industry job, but it wasn’t as an actor.
I got the job of Continuity.

35 words written for Sammi’s Weekend Prompt: Continuity

Continuity is responsible for ensuring all those tiny seemingly unimportant details in a scene match up, take after take after take. I once thought it a dream of a job.

Ah, you’d be so good at that! With your eye for detail, there are few people I know who’d be better 🙂 I used to want to be a researcher, though mainly because I imagined it involved leafing through books for a living.

    • This comes from an incident when I was at school. Our English teacher said, I want you all to be Continuity Girls (as was then the term). And I was the only one who knew what it meant. Yea, most of my working life has involved very close attention to detail.

  2. I didn’t know that was a job – was the “coffee cup in Game of Thrones” a failure of continuity?

    • That you. The challenge was to do it in 35 words. And it came out just right.
In case it’s less familiar to you, the opening lines come from a Beatles sonng (Act Naturally) song by Ringo Star

  8. A very important job! There are so many jobs in the movies that are just as important as the ones that get noticed!
