Behind the Garden Shed

Imps being impish, sneaking away with a shroom… image by Hans Braxmeier on pixabay

I knew a family of imps when I was a kid
Lived behind the garden shed
My folks never saw them
Cos whenever they looked the imps promptly hid

I’d talk to them often though they’d rather play
Games vicious and tormenting
Left me with bruises and welts
That for endless days wouldn’t go away

They told me their names, they suited them well
Peccable, Perious and Pervious
Peccable nipped and pinched
Left me with lumps that then would swell

Pervious… shh, I shouldn’t be telling you this
Had desires beyond my young ken
He’d whip out his wazzy and… you know
But he swiftly tucked it when I gave him a kiss

As for the grandiose notions of Imp Perious… enough said.

A worthy reminiscence, even if the Imps themselves sound a little dodgy….
