Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN
Here’s how it works:
Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE
Here are some suggestions:
- An answering photo
- A cartoon
- A joke
- A caption
- An anecdote
- A short story (flash fiction)
- A poem
- A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
- An essay
- A song—the lyrics or the performance
You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:
- Your creative offering is indeed yours
- Your writing is kept to 150 words or less
If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)
Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.
The photo shows the upper portion of the Winter Gardens, a peoples palace of metal and glass constructed in 1878 in Torquay. It was transported to Great Yarmouth in 1904.
This one is gonna take a little bit of thought…. Excellent prompt by the way.

Thank you. I try to present a challenge with my choice of photos. 🙂

The earliest observed example of a seagull being transfixed by a spire happened in Great Yarmouth on 17 July 1906 at the Winter Gardens. The seagull was bronzed in place and can still be seen there today. So carefully and completely was this done that visitors can use high-powered binoculars (available at a nominal charge) to see the bronzed seagull poop dripping down the spire.
According to locals, new bronze seagull poop is observed just prior to any major calamity befalling Great Yarmouth, first appearing just prior to the zeppelin bombardment of 19 January 1915. Other notable occasions on which new poop appeared include the death of Sir Arthur Harbord, MP, in 1941, and the cancellation of a Beatles concert in 1963.

Brilliant, Brian. Great piece of research!
BTW, I didn’t notice the seagull until pp on the computer. It’s almost exactly on that nasty-looking metal sewer. Couldn’t have set it up better.

I thought it was an adornment! Silly me!

I just happened to click at just the right time. Totally unintentional 🙂

I can see how the cancellation of a Beatles concert could be worth a poop.

That bar might have been inside the glasshouse. It was a nightclub at one time.

Forgive you for your creativity? Never. Brilliantly done, Dale.

Quite a different take: I don’t think I’ve seen a sequence of photos and an accompanying text leading up to Crispina’s photo before. And it can be left hanging or turned into a longer story, as you will, Dale. To echo Crispina, ingenious.

I’ve done it a few times in this challenge 😉 First time I place Crispina’s photo last, though!
Thank you so much, Brian. Am extremely glad you enjoyed!

I am torn between apologizing for not having seen the ones when you did similar things before, and saying “you’re welcome.”
Decisions, decisions . . .
OK, I’ll do both! 😉

How about no worries about the past challenges?
I’m just glad you enjoyed!

Dale, you’ve never been out of order with your CCC posts. I’ve enjoyed every one of them. You answer them in a truly creative spirit, one I welcome and encourage. 🙂

I love your efforts. Don’t stop.
And if you want to video yourself dancing in answer, please do so (just not the Pancake Threaders Dance, I have copyright on that); it’s all within the rules.

And I won’t!!! LOL Especially the Pancake Threaders Dance 😉
So very glad you love my efforts. I shall not stop making them…
