Philology?
No, morphology.
Not phenomenology?
No, and neither physiology.
So, not anatomy nor neurology?
You’re thinking only of biology.
Ah, geology then, like… geochronology?
No. Not even geomorphology.
None of that is what I mean by morphology.

Thanks. I used to do a lot of these at one time… 5 years or so back.

There’s no time like the present to revive them! 😀

You did well. It’s a difficult prompt this week.

I did several posts that played with words like this when I first started the blog. So I’ve reblogged one for tomorrow, from 2013. 🙂

Great wordplay Crispina – I’ll have to look some of those up, I think….

I thank you. As I’ve already said, I like words. But I guess you already know that 🙂

A line from “THE NEVERENDING STORY”, one of my favourate movies. “It’s my speciality” btw I think you’d like that movie. Maybe you’ve seen it.?

Seen the movie, have the DVD, have read the book. 🙂

I haven’t got the book or the DVD. Can I come over and watch it? Guess not. too far for one. I haven’t learned to twitch my nose yet.

You’re right… it had slithered into the spam. So, I was in the process of saying they you can probably watch it on Netflix

Huh? Where’d my comment go?

Precisely. The spam box got hungry. It swallowed down several comments. Maybe it needs a friend? 🙂

A snake perhaps?

Um, I’ve just replied to that. Twice, now. I think the Gremlins have crept it. Obviously they’re here to be best friends with the Spam box!

Thanks, Dale. During my long illness I did actually read the dictionary… dipping in, not as you would any other book.

When I was 11 one of my older cousins gave me a pep talk. The way to do well with your studies is to read the dictionary.

I thought it crazy at the time. But it’s paid off. Not that I read the dictionary as another might read Tolkein. 🙂

I think it was the familiarity. My hand automatically reaches for it, and I understand how it works… which might seem a silly thing to say, but it does follow a certain convention

Understandable. I am an avid dictionary user but never to your extent. I will, however, check any and all words I am unsure of…

I do find myself using online resource more now, but only while I’m editing Spinner’s Game. Word-hippo has become my go-to. But then my hand reaches out for the dictionary if I want to be 100% on the meaning

Same here. Let’s face it, it is right there.
And nothing wrong with a little back up…

But I’m not that keen on the online definitions.
