Captured and imprisoned.
Two crusts a day: one of bread, the other off cheese.
The cheese is best; its mould might heal me.
The bread is rye, its mould might freak me.
Taken at the start of the war…
In the wrong place at the wrong time and wearing the wrong colours.
Green, one shouldn’t wear green.
The fractious fairies’ colour.

I know. Something has stirred them, I think. I don’t know, but I think it could have been that spate of hippy trippers back in the Sixties.

What a cold dour place to be imprisoned. And in such an environment, I am imagining the green would be a constant reminder.. Excellently told.

Bloid curdling if one is imprisoned here. Didn’t know green is favorite of…Can’t imagine world without green trees. How come fractitious fairies and terrorist often chose it? Beutifulky written .

It’s always said that green if the colour of fairies, they being regarded as nature spirits. But it’s also said (at least in England) that it’s unlucky to wear green. But not because of the fairies, but because it’s the colour the Catholics used to identify each other during the period of persecution.

AHA! I got my answer. My 3 unmarried Aunts, on the Scottish side of my family, always said it was unlucky to wear green. The same aunts who told me about our ancestors leaving France during the reformation.

Yea, I was told it was unlucky, so I asked why, and was told it was the fairies’ colour. It was years later, when I was researching the legend of the Green Lady of Costessey Hall, that I discovered the truth.

And why shouldn’t you wear it? Fairies only get uppity with people wearing green if those folks declare that fairies don’t exist. So I was told… by a pixie

Mine is fern green. The fairies have yet to object, so I suppose it’s alright

This was in honour of the Green Lady of Cossey Hall… which was the long ago starting point of Bellinn Road. Cossey Hall became Eldland and Regin-jarl’s hall. the Green Lady became Cesar. And it was in Count Alan’s hands.
