Crimson’s Creative Challenge #52

CCC#52

Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN

Here’s how it works:

Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE

Here are some suggestions:

  • An answering photo
  • A cartoon
  • A joke
  • A caption
  • An anecdote
  • A short story (flash fiction)
  • A poem
  • A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
  • An essay
  • A song—the lyrics or the performance

You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:

  • Your creative offering is indeed yours
  • Your writing is kept to 150 words or less

If you post a link in the comments section of this post I’ll be able to find it
If you include Crimson’s Creative Challenge as a heading, WP Search will find it (theory)
by ‘Searching’ in the WP Reader (fingers crossed)

Here’s wishing you inspirational explosions. And FUN.

See that? See what looks like a path right down the center of the photo? It’s a ley line, a fairy path. Titania laid it down over 3,000 years ago when she went down to the river to take a bath. (You all know what happened then.) 2,000 years ago, the Romans built a road there. The first and last legion ever to use the road was IX Legio Hispana, and after its grim fate, the Romans quickly abandoned the road. 1,000 years ago St. Adelbert the Addled caught sight of Titania bathing (again), and her curse led to the Norman Conquest. 500 years ago Queen Anne Boleyn was walking on the path, and the fairies swapped the child in her womb for one of their own. You might have heard of her: Queen Elizabeth. A local red–headed woman walked down the path recently, and . . .

    • Brian. that’s brilliant. And a total chuckle.
I’ll agree on the fairy path. And perhaps the Romans did build a road, but it went no further than where I was standing, for there the marsh begins which, in there days, would have been a beach. And I’m not happy with St Adelbert the Addled, if he was responsible for the Bastard’s invasion. Though I shall have nothing to say of the rest, for it is true, of late a red-headed local woman did walk this path. 🙂

Another beauty. As I looked, my eyes started focusing on the light shining through, what looks like an Archway in the distance. My imagination is taking over. There are tons of ways to go with this. 🤗

  17. My first time participating and I am already breaking a rule, the writing not being my own. But I must offer this quote from a book I am currently reading: The Journal of Helene Berr. The quote seems to go with your photo:
“The silence rustles with memories and images.”

    Time and space unborn
