Twilight… Two lights.
Which lights?
This light? That light?
Sunlight, moonlight, starlight, lamplight?
Searchlight?
Limelight, footlight?
Nah, headlight, backlight.
Paradise by the Dashboard Light.
Ghost lights, spectral lights… witch lights?
Christmas lights, fairy lights?
Candlelight, firelight?
Gaslight, flashlight?
Ship’s lights?
Which lights? These lights.
44 words, Twilight: written for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt
As long as we can see…
This was fun.

I thank you. Not my usual standard, but as you say, Fun. You’d not believe how many times I rearranged those words. It fell into place when I included Paradise by the Dashboard Light.

Photo taken around this time last year. In a power cut. So, two lights.

This is full of imagery. I can see how you grouped them I read it slowly. “Paradise by the Dashboard light” was intriguing and it full stopped me there. Then it seemed to flow into memories and settled with “These lights” . Almost like a journey through lights. Quite the journey in 44 words, a lifetime.
Maybe I’m reading too much into it. But I think it’s genius 💜🌼
I’d Title it “A Lifetime”

This is a great poem and your photo is so lovely and soft. It would be wonderful for one if your CCC’s! 😀 ❤

I thank you. When life cuts the power, you have to snap up the moment.

Is that good? They’re not going to explode over built-up areas, are they?

LOL
(You do know that, like “Paradise by the Dashboard light,” I’m quoting a Meat Loaf song from the same album?)

Lovely word play – and so many words for light. I’m particularly pleased by the inclusion of Paradise By – great song!

It comes almost as punctuation. A thought sliding off in another direction.
