The wild plum cross-pollinates freely with the orchard-grown varieties… greengage, damson, you name it. So I’m not going to name this one thing or another.
I had to include this. Love the colours.

The fruits look really great. How are you? Has autumn begun at your place?
My exams are over, and they have been quite good. I hope you are having a great Sunday.

Autumn has blown in amid squally showers. Yet temperatures hold despite lack of sun.
The writing continues apace. And I still watch the world with a smile.

Wow, you explained it so well!
It’s autumn here too, and peals of rain and storm.

Yum I love plums. Can’t wait until they’re in season again.

I do too.

These look luscious! I did not know about wild plums cross-pollinating. Thanks for sharing these and teaching me something new! 😀 ❤

Apples do it too. Just about impossible to name them with any certainty.

I love the colors too! 🙂

There are beautiful, aren’t they. Almost a disappointment when they ripen into purple.

They absolutely are!

It’s great to find others who appreciate them. Though, I can tell from your graphics that you have an eye trained to colour.

Thank you and the photos are indeed lovely. I am partial to nature photography. 🙂

Thank you in return. I love nature, being amongst it. I’m not a natural townie.

No other place to be. At least be choice. Unfortunately I live in town, though it is only a small town 🙂

Oh dear. I must admit I’m not a plum person LOL But they have a certain charm. Great shots though 😊 The unripened ones are a beautiful colour!

Aren’t they just. I prefer them to the ripe ones. Which is why I dabbled the settings to show that one in the Reader, and not the other

Oh dear Lord… I could write a story about Sloe Gin and being 16 years old!

The sloe’s okay, but I don’t like gin. And I wasn’t much older than 16 when I discovered that. Have never drunk it since.

hahahaha! I never drunk it since either.

I know, scandalous, isn’t it. I blame it on the bees, corrupting their purity 🙂

It is! Blame it on the bees. 🙂

Troublesome perty bees, mixing up the flowers’ pollens. Why, they might mate a giant with a dwarf. Though it would add to the world’s diversity. 🙂

Great shots! You really capture the gorgeous colors. The next question is… how do these scandalous wild hybrids taste?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Can’t say for certain. but they’re probably improved by making into jam, or wine. 🙂

That seems likely to me too, and a theory worth testing! 🙂

Indeed. But not by me. Don’t do sugars, remember.

I didn’t realize that included natural sugars in fruit, that’s unfortunate. And not by me either, because my forced low-carb diet means I have to limit things like jam, and if I made a whole batch, that would be very difficult!

Fructrose is the worst. That’s what sent my sugar levels back up. So… now on low carb, though not as low as I was when I keto. Keto brought the sugar levels back down to below normal. But I was missing my big plates of vegetables. I allow one treat a week of fruit.
