Our trains are the same color scheme, but the yellow is the prominent color. Ooo I do love trains! Clever poetry Crisp! Full of sound effects.

I too love trains. We have a single track between Norwich and Yarmouth and along it runs single carriage deisels, electrics and this big beastie, there might be ten or more carriages, or a measly two. It’s not a popular services. Fares escalating, the buses are cheaper and almost as fast. Ho-hum.

I used to travel by train from Windsor U.and back. We had great fun! A dream trip for me would be to travel VIA across Canada and through the Rockies. A dream lol
Your poem is perfect. I watched some You tube videos of Lord Hinton. They weren’t too flattering LOL But it certainly has personality 🙂 and a long history. A train to be admired.

There are several videos. All expounding the train’s noisy personality. As well as it’s, shall I say, leftovers from it’s passing by.

It is noisy. It certainly attracts attention. And it does puff out fumes. Though none of it as bad as the old steam trains.

I’m a little rattled at the moment. Trying to do something, but system not responding cos, unbeknownst to me, Windows was downloading an update. So, I thought, restart, dump whatever’s in memory, start afresh. Only to find out … the download. 45 minutes that took. And even then, bits aren’t responding. It’ll settle. but it gets me agitated. Not good. Sorry if I took any of that out on you. Certainly not intended. And now to see if I can finish this task before I quit for the night

I don’t believe in allowing my mood to adversely affect others. It’s okay for the good moods though. 🙂
As to the updates, there’s the biggie, once a year, that they tell you it’s coming and give you a choice of when. Otherwise, it downloads, and in the process slows every process in the system, and when you go to power off, you then find a choice of restart and install, or shut down and install on next start. I could have left it till this morning, but that requires leaving the laptop running when I go to be. Which I don’t like to do.

I find it interesting how as writers we sometimes have to create a mood. But often in comments the mood is misunderstood.
Yah that power off decision can be irksome when they want to upgrade LOL Especially if you’re tired 🙂

We create a mood, but we don’t allow our own to taint our words. Unless it coincides with the mood intended.

Yea, you did. So I watched the first however long. But I’ve just been kicked off the laptop for half and hour while Windows updates etc etc etc, and I want to finish what I was doing before then. So…. later 🙂

I’ve no idea why it does that. Certainly not done by me. You could try the Happiness Engineers at the Forum. I’ve always found them helpful.

Used to. Now I only resort when something is troubling me. I have to say, after working 6:00 am through to 4:00 pm on the fiction, I’m not too keen on writing more. But, if something is pressing …
When I was your age I wrote in my journal most days. And that continued until just a few years ago. It’s excellent practice at expressing your ideas and emotions. I used to use the journal too for reasoning out new concepts, the better to understand them.

Having lived next to the track most of my life, the sounds of the train passing has always been a comfort.

Gosh, I can’t imagine what that’s like. I only hear the trains when I’m out with camera and close to a line. And there’s not many of those in Norfolk,

Passed by a few times per day. Made the house shake and rattled the glasses in the cabinet! Every few months, had to push them all back… I wrote about this on one of the train prompts I’ve done.

My grandma lived beside the tracks. In those days they were steam trains. Frightening beasts high up on the embankment and me but a tiddly toddler. 🙂

Thanks, Sammi. I love big powerful engines. When I first moved to this town I used to spend a lot of time down by the harbour’s mouth, watching the ships come in. Enclosed by the warehouses and other buildings, the chug and thrum of their engines was amplified. Anyone would think I was listening to a heavy metal rock band, the way I enthused.
