My walks have been well-timed this summer. Until this week. This week the heavens opened.
At the confluence of the Bure and Yare, the rain was yet to fall. But I reckon it’s enough to claim the title Rainy Day

It’s a haunting photo. Something beautiful about it. The calm before the storm?

Not a storm, but a heavy downpour. By then we were 2 miles out of town, on the banks of the estuary. We sat in our waterproofs and played eye-spy while we waited. It was quite pleasant. 🙂

I have a high rise blocking me but they whiz by here to turn back towards the lake. It’s amazingly close LOL But louder than anything. Can’t see a lot but hear A LOT! lol I saw the SnowBirds in formation.

I have to admit, since a kid, the sound of planes roaring by me terrifies me. We lived at the top of a hill. Not a high hill, but high enough when there’s a military airfield down in the valley and you don’t hear the planes until they’re upon you and close enough to see the moustache.

Awe that’s too bad. They excite me. But they’re not exactly that close.

Good (very early) morning. Enjoy the planes!
Yep, I mean no, I woke early, couldn’t go back to sleep, so got up. But I’m not sure that was such a good idea. Ho-hum 🙂

LOL Nice to see you so early 🙂 Have a nap later

Probably shall. I did sleep soundly earlier in the night. But then I woke, and I’ve oly drifted since then. So … I’m probably short by about 2 hours.

I did take a photo while the rain was raining. It looked less rainy than this one. Odd. 🙂

Gives it a delightfully eerie look. Surprised there was no camera bewitchery going on in this spot….

Yea, I might have gotten ghostly Romans or Vikings. 🙂

Rain’s a funny thing to photograph. Unless it’s backlit. I think this photo encapsulates the rainy day perfectly!

I thank you, Maria. I wanted the photo to be more than simply rain. And I have several taken after the rain, all crisp and bright and glistening, but this one is wonderfully moody.

Nice photo. It is pouring here today.

But is it warm? I always think rain is acceptable as long as it’s warm. It’s those winter days when the rain more resembles hyperdermics! 🙂

We don’t have a winter season. When it rains for days we find the weather cool but it is never cold.

Never cold … ah, yea, but you probably have other weather problems. None of us live in paradise. Not 365 days/year.

March, April and May are very hot. Our monsoon season starts in June but this year it started in July and June was spent hot with humidity very high!!

I know it’s what you’re used to. I’m used to cool. Such weather would weaken me, leave me lifeless and wilting.

The reflections in this photo are really gorgeous – perfect waviness to it, almost as if it’s a painting.

I blame the weather. I cannot take credit. Although I did line up the shot. And there is wee bit of post-processing, but only by way of lighting control such as might be done on a camera. There’s another shot coming up this afternoon. Really weird lighting: After the Rain.

Oh, and ought to just say the photo was taken at the top of the tide, with not much by way of wind. So unusual stillness. This afternoon’s photo was taken some 4 hours later, with tide rapidly ebbing.

It certainly looks rainy – lovely reflections.

I thank you, Andrea. Although this was before the rain fell, so thick was the mist in the air.
