Monstrous Dragons

Dragonfly (darter): 19th August 2019

Is it the Common Darter or the Ruddy? I’m not sure which, though with where I found it I favour the latter.

And I’m going for the title Macro on this; this is as close as I can get without special lens.

I’m thinking the answer is the season. I can’t say for certain, but I think dragonflies and butterflies are busy egg-laying. And that requires them to keep still for … however long it takes.

I’ve no idea what kind of dragonfly that is, but what an impressive creature! You managed to get a great (and very macro-seeming) shot, whichever lens you used.

  5. I’ve never seen a dragonfly like this one. The ones I’ve seen are a little boring looking compared to yours.
