So while weary-footed Mum took her ease, my daughter played. Well, there was no sign to give age-restriction and she only just tops a young girl’s height … Playtime

I have to admit to a bit of envy, that the “play houses” at McDonald’s fast food chain only opened up after I was too old to play in them.
On the other hand, when I was a child, we has a “whirligig” in our back yard. It was a four-seater. You took a seat, pumped with your arms and legs, and it went around. And of course the challenge was to make it go around so fast you got dizzy. The three of us kids loved it.
Our friends? They weren’t so keen on it. Many of them came off of it feeling rather sick. Which, kids being kids, made the three of us enjoy it all the more.

I’d have loved that. Wow!
BTW, I did alao play … at least on the assault course. But good old Shen, the tings she’ll do for her Ma π

So this is the elusive Shen . . . although given your announced habits when taking walks, it could hardly have been either of your other daughters. π

The youngest, perhaps, would accompany us were she in town. Though she prefers the bicycle. The oldest? In our dreams. And, hey, we didn’t get lost this time. Though we did do a little confusing tangle with with some pilgrims. At least, that’s what they claimed themselves, yet the cross they carried was more child-sized. Hmmm. One wonders.

Worshipers of the Baby Jesus, who is sometimes treated as if he’s distinct from an adult. Hence the small crosses.

Ah, so that’s it. Though I’d say that cross was meant for a seven year old Jesus, or a small 12.

I’m not sure cross size linearly scales with age, being unfamiliar with the mathematics involved. π

You just take a hoodie, and judge it by eye. π

Fun! We all can do with a little playtime. (Even if it’s just watching from the sidelines!) π

That’s my daughter, so obliging. Though I’m glad she took no photos of me as I negotiated the assault course sited in the same plaground. π

Once my feet recovered. It was a lovely small village we’d found, all thatched cottages around a village green.

Your never to old to act on a whim, even when someone there is taking your picture to prove it!

One thing my daughter and I share (apart from love of nature, love of walking, keen on photography, and sense of humour) is the spontaneious expression of the child that’s never hidden far within. π
