This saddens me.. Makes me feel like he gave his life for nothing..

I know you and Violet and blog-buddies; have seen you comment on each other;s posts. I don’t mind if you hang out here.
I just feel bad that my Silence turned out so dark. Though ,,, well, as soon as I chose the photo to head it, there was no escaping it

Yes ma’am. FF prompt is interesting too, so looks like I’m going to have to bring it!
Can’t wait to see what’s in store.

Yep. That’s a Gemini for you.
BTW what happens if you leave hard-boiled eggs in iced water for 2 hours? Only I forgot them.

Hmm. Interesting.
Nothing. They’ll still be good.

Oh good. They were local free-range, farmyard beasties. Would hate to waste them.

No worries. Even if they have a tinge of dark around the yolk, they’re still good, just not as pretty!

Oh, I’m used to the grey fleecy jecket. I’m chuffed if I can cook them without it. I know the theory. But it depends on you not forgetting the time. Which means giving it full attention. Hard-boiled eggs, and men, what do they have in common?

LOL!
True. But we are busy women! We can forget…
I’m afraid to ask…

Both require a lot of attention.
But don’t take that for what it’s not. One look at my history is enough to give the idea that I have a liking for them. But men tend not to be edible after being dunked in cold water for 2 hours cos I’ve gotten carried away doing something else. They tend to grow feet, rather than grey fleecy jackets

Shucks, don’t do that. Your wonderful mounted Mountis might charge me with murder.

According to any movie or programme that includes them, they are just dumb, friendly folk (I cannot tell you how much it aggravates me to see them depicted like that)
LikeLiked by 1 person
They’re mounted coppers; therefore it follows they can’t be dumb, and it’s probably questionable how friendly they are. Like the busby-hatted guards at Lizzie’s Buck-House, it’s just an image, unrelated to reality

Oh, I know it. It’s just so annoying to see them portrayed on TV as eejits.

We folk here in Norfolk have the same problem. Speak with anything hinting at the Norfolk accent, and you’re labelled a country bumbkin. A comedian from any other part of UK is accepted, no matter how thick the accent. But not from Norfolk. And don’t tell me there’s Stephen Fry; he hasn’t got a Norfolk accent. Neither have when I left school.

What is up with that crap?

Okay, now you’ve lost me. Penalty of not paying attention.

Sorry. Judging people based on their accent. For example not all people from the southern States are hillbilly nitwits…
LikeLiked by 1 person
Precisely. And nowhere else in UK does this apply. Hey, not even in Ireland. But when an ignorant bumpkin type character is required, (uusally for humorous effect, and usually in sitcome) the good old rural-born and breed Norfolk folk are drawn upon. Mind you, we’ve had such an influx of Londoners that you now have to dig deep to find anyone left with that accent. Anc actors can’t get it right; they tend to mic it with West Country (the other folk to talk the piss out of). If we were black, it would be an offence.
And that’s my last word on the subject. How the hell did I get onto that.

Funny how that works goes. We went from heavy tombstones to rural bumpkins!
Subject now closed till further notice!!

I must confess, I was inspired to write a morose bit of poetry I really like as a result of the feeling I was left with after reading Crispina’s poem… But this is sunnier, Dale and I feel brighter, just having read it! Thank you Girls! You are both dolls!!

Well, were that an experiment to discover whether poety can affect the spirits, I’d say we’ve managed to say it does. My apologies for bringing you down, but some good has come of it, since you’re now written a piece, that thought glum, is yet a good piece that you’re pleased with. Have a brighter day today ,Violet. ๐

I had intended to use a photo of the sea, and write something light, but then realised that, no, the sea is never silent. And so choose the sepulchre found in the graveyard of a ruined church. Glad you liked. ๐

I thank you. It didn’t turn out how I originally intended. I intended to keep it light. But then I searched my photos and … it took a dark turn.
Glad you like. It was one of the most difficult I’ve done so far. As you know, I’m a person of words. Loadsa words.
