Welcome to my weekly challenge—open to all—just for FUN, FUN, FUN

Here’s how it works:

Every Wednesday I post a photo (this week it’s that one above.)
You respond with something CREATIVE

Here are some suggestions:

  • An answering photo
  • A cartoon
  • A joke
  • A caption
  • An anecdote
  • A short story (flash fiction)
  • A poem
  • A newly minted proverb, adage or saying
  • An essay
  • A song—the lyrics or the performance

You have plenty of scope and only two criteria:

  • Your creative offering is indeed yours
  • Your writing is kept to 150 words or less

    Set a decade after the Peasant’s Revolt, this thrilling movie pits the Norfolk sheriff, clad in full armour on his mighty steed, against a mob of serfs out for revenge, with only his Lollard wife to help him! But neither side is expecting the alien vampire invasion, and so must join forces to save the Kingdom of England, and indeed all Christendom. Swords! Ray guns! Metaphysical disputes over the operation of divine grace on alien species! And above all, a romance for the ages between the sheriff’s steed and an alien mare! See it in spectacular wide-screen 3-D Technicolour!

      Gosh, you’ve already seen the movie. Wow. Is it as good as the trailers? You know, they hype it so much, it’s a disappointment when you finally get to see the movie. 🙂

        I think the first trailer was quite appropriate. The emphasis on special effects in the second and third ones gives you a misleading feel for the film. Though the destruction of Norwich castle IS one of the highlights, for its effect on the theme of predestination as well as the special effects.

        And now you’ve captured my interest. Gosh, Norwich castle demolished. I do hope that’s only special effects. There’s been nothing in the news about it. I mean, where now shall I go to ride Boudica’s chariot (school days only, otherwise you never get near it.)

        I shouldn’t be telling you this, but, in the movie, there’s a casual reference most viewers will miss that tells you EXACTLY where the original Boudica’s chariot is buried.

        The issue is that if it is dug up, there is a prophecy that all foreign rulers will be expelled from Britain. Now the Brexiteers are in a dilemma, because naturally that’s what they say they want . . . but it would mean losing the Royal Family, too!

        Indeed. I can see this is a very delicate matter. And wonders what the situation if the House of Windsor (more correctly Hanover) is expelled, would they allow the legitimate heir to enter, since he is Australian. 🙂
        And am I right to believe that the (not-to-be-mentioned) vehicle is buried beneath the Costessey henge? I have often thought something of significance is buried there by the way the cows congregate. Dead giveaway, that.

And if you don’t think we still do that, that’s only because you haven’t heard about it. It’s secret, you know.]

      And I do agree, that grass is lush. The sign sits on a small grassy triangle at a crossroads, the highest place for far around. And it puzzles me why it’s not as dry and crisped by the sun as the rest of the landscape.
