Who’s for a Paddle?

Last Thursday … what a walk. For of the season, legs seemed not to be mine, though they finally got the hang of it. Meanwhile, the photo ops leapt out from all directions.

Up A Creek

The Wensum, still within Norwich: 21st February 2019

In Norfolk a creek is a short stream that cuts through a salt marsh to outlet at the sea. Yet the term also conjures up what I’d call a beck or a brook. Thus I was concerned the Wensum might exceed dimensions. But Maria assured me much bigger than this is still a creek. And so …  I claim it for #2019picoftheweek challenge title: Creek

And what a haunted tale for ccc sometime?

I do try to keep the picofweek photos separate from those of CCC. Not easy, though these photos tend to be the more recent; for CCC I’m more included to draw on the archived pool. Except this coming Wednesday, which was taken last Thursday and I just had to use. 🙂

Seeing we have snow falling this morning, I’m sighing over the picture. You and nature did the framing and color balance well.

I thank you, Brian (and I have now corrected the typo). I do feel a little bit bad that we’re having decent weather (though it could plummet again at any moment) while the States gets hammered with high winds, high rainfall and exceptionally deep snow. But can I help where I live? 🙂

Then again, you live in a community with a dragon buried offshore and a wyrm hiding in the estuary. Though knowing your readers, now that they know this you may get more visitors!

Thank you, ten times over, for that wonderful laugh. Timely mention, too, since I’ve been pondering which of the Asaric Tales to buff-up and publish once The Spinner’s Game is sorted. Should I go for Neve? I have an affection for Neve. Or keep it to chronological order and disentangle the original Hare and Adder from its WP shell of Priory Project (i.e. remove it from it’s time-split cover). And here we are with the dragon. Ho-hum

Neve would be a logical sequel, though the change in tone would startle some of your readers.

Hmm, that’s what I’m thinking. Although it’s part of the Asaric Tales series, it isn’t part of the Spinner’s Game, which makes a difference. Plus, such an interest in Vikings, and there is the Viking connection … whereas Hare and Adder proibably needs a full rewrite.

So many names for so many bodies of water… I always wondered myself (but haven’t looked it up) when a creek becomes a brook becomes a stream…
    Lovely picture, Crispina.
