Alas. Poor Boris.

Alas Poor Boris

Little Spider, hurry – fast!

Your days are numbered;
You will not last.

The rolled-up papers, slippers too,
All are out to flatten you,

So hurry Little Spider do
Because we giants are scared of you.

I did check out The Who Boris the Spider song and lyrics…too funny!! Guess I missed that one or it has left my data bank already. 🙂

I wrote a spidery poem once, hopefully not too convoluted for the feeling trying to be conveyed—-here it is, I’ll paste it in:
    Predator Love

    Suspended like hapless prey
    Cruelly bound and hidden away,
A heart flutters softly out of sight
Hanging helpless in the inky night.

A heart is naught but easy prey,
Its true love wrapped and bound away.
And hidden far away from sight
Beats sadly in the endless night.

    Imprisoned it throbs beneath
    A tightly wound glistening sheath,
Throbbing in the absence of the light
    Into impenetrable soulless night.

Soon its captor will unravel this cell!
But then will gentle love prevail,
To see the blessed light of day
Or drop by drop be drained away?

Predator Love can afford to wait
Leaving a heart beyond the gate,
Away from pure and holy light
Beating hopelessly in the lonely night.

    Taunting, teasing with mal intent
    Love Preys upon the innocent,
Holding a heart to be devoured,
At will, upon some gruesome hour!

    When on creeping, hairy legs
    Predator Love comes your way,
Comes to claim its hapless prize,
Don’t go quietly toward your heart’s demise.

Lay a trap with knowing smiles.
Spin a web with alluring wiles,
Laughing in the gleam of day
When the predator shall become the prey.

One captive heart has the other held
    Ne’er could Predator Love foretell,
That two hearts bound by love’s delight
Would beat together in the happy night.

That is beautiful. Wonderful analogy. And where you could have left it ‘hanging’ the wounded love in the dead of night, you’ve turned it around so the prey becomes predator. Much like. Thank you for sharing. You should post it. Perhaps with a suitable photo. I know you’ve the skill to capture a spider. And it could help overcome the phobia.

OK, I’m going to echo CP here, and say you need to post it on your blog with a suitable picture of your own.
