Inspiration Called Today

Inspiration called today.
You were not here,
You’d gone away,
Gone away to distant isles
Where inspiration hangs on trees
And you can pluck it from the breeze.

Inspiration call today
You were not here,
It did not stay

Today, however, I was there. It’s been a while.

  2. Lovely words, and so true. Fortunately I was paying attention when Inspiration tapped me on the shoulder last night, and solved the problem of a regrettable trope I’d introduced in my Book 1 – showing me how to turn it into misdirection and hearsay. I can’t wait to start drafting Book 3! Actually, I can’t believe I even remembered, for I never write anything down.

I also tend to write in my head, at least the start and the finish and the pertenant parts in between; only then to commit to the screen and begin the job of filling in. But I have learned in a first draft not to worry too much about details, cos as I’m writing the story takes over and wends it way on its own. Wish you the best with your writing

  3. Cool. No wonder you reposted it and no wonder Sammi published it.

I thank you. It was written during my long years of severe ME/CFS when all too often inspired thoughts would come and the body wasn’t capable of writing beyond a couple of lines. A frustrating time. But this one got through!
